Seting layar menjadi 1024×600 dan battery laptop di ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx)
Konfigurasi yang dilakukan ini menggunakan quantel e10 atau twinhead e10. Laptop kelas low-end buat yang punya dana terbatas.
A. Seting/Konfigurasi layar menjadi 1024×600
Langkah-langkah untuk melakukan konfigurasi screen menjadi resolusi 1024×600 adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Pastikan bahwa xserver-xorg-video-amd sudah terinstalasi. Atau jika kurang yakin dapat melakukan perintah ini dari terminal/console:
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-amd
jika file tersebut sudah terinstalasi maka akan disampaikan pesan bahwa sudah terinstalasi, jika belum silakan dipilih Y untuk instalasi.
2. Buat file dengan nama file: xorg.conf di folder /etc/X11 dengan perintah dari terminal/console:
gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
2. kemudian copy paste konfigurasi di bawah ini kedalam file tersebut:

3. Simpan dan kemudian silakan di restart.
B. Seting/Konfigurasi ACPI
ACPI ini berfungsi untuk mengaktifkan battery laptop, karena defaultnya battery laptop quantel e10 atau twinhead e10 tidak terdeteksi di ubuntu 10.04
1. Buka Terminal/Console.
2. Ketikan perintah berikut:
gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub
3. Kemudian akan tampil isi file.
4. Cari baris yang berisi:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=”"
5. Ganti baris tersebut menjadi:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=”acpi=force“
6. Kemudian simpan dan tutup file tersebut.
7. Masih pada terminal/console, silakan di ketik:
sudo update-grub
8. Silakan di restart ulang.
